Google to Prioritize Secure Websites On The Top of Search Engine Results!

Google updated Panda and Penguin earlier in the year and it is now planning to get some more ranking factors into action to remove the spam websites and improve the search engine results. This time it has targeted insecure websites. According to the media resources, Google has recently unveiled that it will consider 'HTTPS' as a ranking factor. HTTPS stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure, which means that the website is safe to browse and secure for transactions.

By this, most of website owners will move towards encryption to create a safe website. Google wrote in a blog post that, “We have been working on this factor past few months and hereby decided that at present the weightage of HTTPS in the ranking factor is just 1% which is lower when compared to the content quality factor.” In the upcoming days there are chances that this 1% might increase to 2-3% in overall ranking factor considerations.

Well, this is an interesting call from Google. It is must for all the e-Commerce industries to have secure web address if they are not having it. It will definitely down their overall turnover if this ranking factor affects their website. At present, Google has not released any guide for this, but it will released in few weeks. Know all the procedures to register for single, multiple or wild-card domains to get HTTPS as your website. This will really help you and improve your websites' search engine rankings.

As a part of project zero from Google, it has made many changes in the internet world. Especially, it is now targeting all the insecure websites and spam websites that are creating nuisance online. Therefore it is must to beware of the latest updates from Google that may down your ranking.

There are many digital marketing firms who are looking forward to switch to HTTPS. If you are looking forward to switch, you have to wait for the guidelines. Stay tuned for more news on Google Zero project and HTTPS guidelines.
